These Frye Jenna studded boots had been made thorough use of over the years, and it showed — the soles and heels had been worn through and the leather uppers had become quite scuffed and discoloured. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a full re-sole and re-heel and to polish the leather uppers to help get them looking fresher.

Re-sole and re-heel

We started by removing the existing soles and heels on the boots and replacing them with a pair of high-quality rubber heels and single-piece rubber soles that extended along the entire length of each boot.

Leather polish

Part of the appeal of an old, well-worn boot is that it’s age and wear are marks of what they’ve been through — and so often deserve to be maintained and even shown off, rather than covered up. So instead of recolouring / refinishing the leather to its original black, we used a neutral polish to buff out some of the scuffing and reduce somewhat (not entirely) the level of discolouration around the leather uppers, darkening the leather slightly rather than colouring it in.
