These Scanlan Theodore boots were in excellent condition, but the soles were unprotected and showing signs of wear after only a few wears. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to install protective soles.

The boots had only been worn a few times, but the leather soles had started to wear down fairly quickly — especially around the toes. We levelled off the soles and ‘scratched’ the surface, using sandpaper to roughen the leather’s surface and create a slight recess into which we were then able to adhere a pair of thin rubber sole protectors. These are made from a highly durable rubber, they retain their cream colour while worn, and they significantly enhance both longevity and grip. The sole protectors we used in this case are made by Vibram in Italy.
