The bag
The leather around the exterior of this Prada Bibliotheque bag was scratched and discoloured, particularly at the ends of the handles. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean, condition, and recoloured the leather, to conceal the scratches and restore the original colour.
Colour restoration
We began by cleaning and conditioning the leather throughout the exterior of the bag to clear away dirt from the surface of the leather. This also helps to prepare the leather for the colour restoration work, by stripping the original finish and nourishing the leather to ensure it is ready to accept the new colour. We then custom mixed a leather colourant based on the colour of the bag and applied it on the discoloured leather in multiple thin layers before using a finishing agent to seal in the new colour and re-create the leather’s original finish.
