The boots

The soles on these Zambelan Civetta GTX boots were worn and peeling away from around the front and back. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the soles with a new pair of durable rubber cup soles.

The rubber soles on these boots were largely in good condition, except they were peeling away at the toes and the heels, where the rubber no longer formed to the uppers. While the rubber could of course be glued down, this was likely to offer only a temporary, short-term solution, as the malformed rubber would peel off again soon enough with continued wear.

We began by carefully removing the whole of each sole from the uppers of the boots and thoroughly cleaned the surface around the bottom of each boot — to remove the old glue and any accumulated dirt / debris. We then selected a new pair of cup soles similar to the existing and suitable for use on hiking boots, being careful to ensure that they fit the uppers of these particular boots perfectly, and then glued them into place.
