SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable R.M. Williams boot repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s R.M. Williams boots.
The boots
The soles and heels on these RM Williams Adelaide boots had worn down — and torn through in the case of the leather soles. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a half re-sole and a re-heel.
Half leather re-sole
We started off by cutting away the old, worn leather soles, slicing them back at a point about an inch before the heels. We then attached a pair of premium leather half soles in their place, again slicing them at the ends so that everything sat flush, and stitched them into place — along the original welt (the layer of leather that sits between the soles and the leather uppers).
Re-heel
We then removed the old rubber heel caps and replaced them with a new pair of original RM Williams heel caps.
