The boots

The rubber soles and heels on these RM Williams Comfort Craftsmen boots were worn down and in need of replacement. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a full resole.

Resole + reheel

We started off by removing the old soles and heels — the latter having been previously replaced with generic heel caps by another repairer. We then repaired the corking on the inside of the boots (which sits just above the soles) and glued down a pair of original RM Williams rubber soles and stitched them into place against the Goodyear welt (the layer of leather that sits on the outer edges of the boots, between the soles and uppers). We then carefully shaped the edges of the soles.

We then installed a new pair of original RM Williams rubber heels and carefully shaped them to match the shape of the heel blocks.

We finally used an edge dressing to colour the edges of the soles and heels to a consistent black.
