The bag
This Louis Vuitton bag arrived at our workshop without its original crossbody strap attached and the customer keen to have a new one installed. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis / quote, we offered to craft and install an entirely new shoulder strap based on the original strap’s design.
Strap replacement
We started off by taking an original Louis Vuitton vachetta leather shoulder strap as a reference. We cut pieces of leather from a fresh vachetta leather hide before glueing and stitching the leather together and then finishing the edges with a red ink. We installed hardware and punched holes in the strap in order to make it length-adjustable and we crafted a new shoulder pad for use with the strap as well. The new strap had lobster clasps installed on the ends so that the strap could easily clip onto the original D-rings on the sides of the bag.
