SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Coach bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Coach bag.
The bag
This handles on this Coach Peyton bag were heavily worn. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the handles with an entirely new pair that we custom made based on the design of the original.
Handle replacement
We began by removing the original handles. We then custom made a new pair of handles from a premium leather similar to the existing. In order to maintain the original look, we made sure to replicate the details on the original handles as closely as possible, including by stitching down the centre of the handles (rather than the sides) and sealing the leather on the edges with a dense black edge paint. We also re-created the leather loop keepers around the ends of each handle. Having made these parts, we proceeded to install them around the original handle connector hardware on the bag.
