The boots
The soles on these Loake Chelsea boots were in need of repair, with the old protective rubber soles having been entirely worn through and the original, now-exposed leather soles leaving the boots unprotected. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a full re-sole, replacing the original rubber heels and leather soles with a pair of new Dainite soles and heels covering the entire length of each boot.
Full Dainite re-sole
We started off by removing the heel blocks along with the original leather soles that covered the full length of each boot. We then added a pair of Dainite rubber soles in place of the old soles and stitched them into place, carefully sanding them down around the edges so that they sat flush with the welt (the layer of leather that lives between the soles and uppers).
Dainite are British manufacturers of studded rubber soles used by high-end shoe manufacturers. The soles are known for their quality, manufactured from solid, hard-wearing rubber offering an added measures of durability and comfort..
Dainite re-heel
With the heel blocks removed from the boots, we then proceeded to remove the old heel caps — the layers of rubber at the end of each heel block. We then replaced the old heel caps with new Dainite heel caps, which we again carefully sanded down around the edges to match the shape of the heel blocks, and finally reattached the heel blocks to the soles.
