The polished pebble leather lining the interior pocket on this Coach Charlie Carryall handbag was peeling and had become very soft, making the zipper on the pocket difficult to use. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the inner lining along with all the interior pockets.
Leather lining and interior pocket replacement
We started off by removing the lined inner pocket on the bag. This involved undoing the stitching on either side of the bag and all around the pocket. We then deconstructed the leather pocket as well as the subsidiary leather pockets attached to it, and we used them as templates in cutting identical pieces of leather from a similar, high-quality pebbled leather.
We then proceeded to stitch the various leather pieces together to re-create the pockets, stitching all the pieces (including the zipper on the main pocket) into place on the bag before finally re-stitching the leather around the sides of the bag.
