The boots

These Chippewa Service boots were built to withstand the most rugged terrains and work, but over years the original rubber soles and heels had worn down, needing replacement. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to perform a full resole, replacing the heels and soles with entirely new ones.

Reheel

We started off by removing the heel blocks and replacing the old heel caps with entirely new one. Since the heel blocks (i.e the stacks of leather just above the rubber heel caps) had been worn into, we ended up needing to build up the heel blocks slightly, to level them off before replacing the rubber heel caps.

Full resole

We removed the old Vibram rubber soles and replaced them with a pair of fresh, similarly styled Goodyear rubber soles, which we stitched into the Goodyear welt — which is the layer of leather that lives between the rubber soles and leather uppers. With the new soles in place we proceeded to reattach the repaired heel blocks.
