The boots

These Red Wing Moc Toe boots were starting to look old and tired with the leather scuffed and discoloured and the original soles heavily worn down, to the point where the leather uppers were starting to be worn into, leaving the boots irreversibly damaged. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to resole the boots.

Leather cleaning, conditioning and polishing

We started off by cleaning the leather uppers to remove accumulated dirt, oils and other impurities. We then conditioned the leather to nourish it, making it more supple and feeling fresh. We finally polished the leather, using a neutral polish to buff out the scuffing as much as possible.

Full resole

We removed the old soles — carefully, so as to avoid damaging the leather around the bottom of the boots’ uppers. We then installed a pair of Vibram Christy wedge soles in place of the old soles.
