SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Louis Vuitton bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Louis Vuitton handbag.
The handbag
This Louis Vuitton Turenne PM handbag had a serious tear on the zipper, making it unusable with a stuck slider. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis / quote, we offered to replace the zipper with an entirely new one.
Zipper replacement
We started off by removing the zipper, unstitching it from either side of the bag. We then prepared a new YKK zipper with matching specifications in terms of size and colour and stitched that into place, following the original stitching lines. The new zipper came with a separate metallic zipper pull, which made using pull easier to slide. We then attached the original leather pull to the new metallic one.
