The shoes
The uppers, soles and heels on these Christian Louboutin Daviol dress shoes were looking a little worn, with the leather uppers needing some rejuvenation and the soles and heels having lost their signature red colour. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean, condition and polish the leather uppers before installing a pair of thin rubber sole protectors.
Suede cleaning
We started off by lightly brushing the suede parts of the uppers with a suede brush, to remove any surface dirt. When then used a special suede shampoo to thoroughly clean the suede, removing the more deeply ingrained dirt and impurities. We finally used a suede brush to restore the suede’s nap.
A similar process was used to clean the fabric parts of the uppers, except using special cleaning materials that work best on fabrics.
Leather polishing
We used a leather polish to buff the leather around the toes and restore some of the lustre the leather there had lost over time.
Sole and heel protectors
We installed a pair of thin protective rubber soles and heels. These are made especially for Louboutins, being the same red in colour with a glossy finish that fits in with the original aesthetic. However, being made of a durable rubber, these last much longer than the leather soles and do so without losing their original red colour as they wear down — effectively keeping the soles and heels looking fresh for much longer.
