The handbag
This Hermès Garden Party tote bag was in need of a thorough clean and colour restoration, due to the accumulation of dirt and marks on the canvas and the loss of colour on the corners of the leather base. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean and condition the canvas and leather before recolouring / refinishing the discoloured leather.
Cleaning and conditioning
We started by cleaning and conditioning both the leather and canvas. The cleaning ensured that all traces of dirt and accumulated impurities on the surface were removed. Meanwhile, the conditioning nourished the leather to keep it healthy as well as helped to give the canvas a sheen, restoring its original lustre.
Colour restoration
We custom mixed a colour based on the leather around the bottom of the bag and then proceeded to recolour the leather. We then used specialist finishers to restore the original (mildly glossy) texture.
