The boots

Regular wear had left the suede on these RM Williams Rickaby boots stained and discoloured. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to re-dye the suede to black, to produce a consistent colour and finish throughout the boots and give the boots a fresh look.

Colour change

We began by cleaning the suede to remove any accumulated dirt and impurities, and to prepare the suede for the dyeing process. Once the suede was dry, we applied black dye in thin, consistent layers across each of the boots. We made sure the suede was given plenty of time to rest and completely absorb the dye between layers, to reduce the chance of any patchiness. We finished off the transformation by installing a new pair of black shoelaces and spraying the boots with a specialist waterproofing agent — both to seal in the new colour and protect the suede from water damage / stains going forward.
