The shoes

The heels on these Louboutin Kate heels were heavily worn, with the heel tips missing and the leather on the heel blocks torn and peeling away. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the heel tips and re-wrap the heel blocks with new leather.

Heel block re-wrapping

We began by carefully peeling back the red sole from the inside of the heel blocks (the ‘heel breast’) and then removing the blocks from the uppers. We removed the damaged leather from the heel blocks in one piece and set it aside. We then used that leather as a template in cutting new leather pieces from a fresh hide like the original.

We wrapped the original heel blocks with these new leather pieces, re-secured the heel blocks to the uppers, and re-adhered the red sole into place at the heel breast. We finally installed a new pair of durable rubber heel tips.
