These Meermin Black Calf oxford shoes were in desperate need of a repair, with the inner lining disintegrating and the soles worn down — the rubber sole protectors having been fully worn through. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis / quote, we offered to reline the shoes as well as perform a full resole and reheel.

Full resole and reheel

We removed the original heel blocks and soles before installing new full-length leather soles, which we stitched into place along the shoes’ Goodyear welt (the layer of leather between the outer soles and uppers) and then stained to produce a light tan finish, as well as hard wearing rubber heel caps.

Relining

We removed the old lining, which was severely worn and torn, and replaced it with a new suede lining that covered the rear of the shoes as well as the sides, to just before the toes. This lining was glued into place and then carefully stitching along the original stitching lines around the top of the shoes.
