The bag
This Louis Vuitton Aurelia tote bag was showing its age, with the leather piping and strap mounts torn. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the piping and strap mounts around both sides of the bag with new vachetta leather.
Piping replacement
We began by carefully deconstructing the bag and removing the worn-out piping. We then selected a new hide of vachetta leather in a tanned shade similar to the existing. The leather was then cut to correct size and folded over, to replicate the rounded shape of the original piping. Finally, the new piping was stitched into place and the bag was re-constructed.
Strap mount replacement
The same process was followed to replace all 4 of the strap mounts. These extended vertically down the face of each bag and were secured in place with stitching along the edges as well as Louis Vuitton-branded studs, which we retained and reused.
