The shoes
These Christian Louboutin Dandelion Spikes Loafers were essentially brand new, having been worn a handful of times. The original leather soles were covered with flimsy plastic protective soles that were failing to offer much protection, slippery on smooth or wet surfaces and readily accumulating dirt. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to add a pair of full protective rubber soles, covering the entire length of each shoe, and made in red, especially for Louboutins.
Full sole protection
We started off by removing the old plastic protective soles and cleaning off all the dirt and impurities on the surface of the soles and heel caps. We then removed the heel blocks, giving us access to the full length of each sole. We then added a thin layer of protective rubber soles (about as thin as a 10 cent coin) over the top of the existing soles and sanded down the sides to blend them into the shape of the shoes.
These soles were made of a high-grade, ‘Vibram’ rubber known to be hard wearing and long-lasting. The soles are also red in colour, being made especially for Louboutins. Unlike the protective rubber soles generally added to stilettos, the soles used on these flats were full soles in the sense that they covered the full length of each shoe.
With the new protective soles in place, we then re-attached the heel blocks.
