SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Guess bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Guess backpack.
The bag
The strap on this Guess backpack had begun to tear and split apart. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the straps by re-glueing the loose leather and shortening the straps slightly.
Strap repair
We repaired the splitting leather on the handle at the top of the backpack by first removing the old glue (which was clearly no longer working) and then cleanly glueing the layers of leather back together. However, the tearing on the strap was significant, such that the leather in that area could not be repaired. So what we did instead is shorten the straps slightly to remove that part of the damaged strap that could not be repaired — but shortening both straps by the same amount to retain symmetry.
