Replacing the clip
The damaged clip on this bag could not be repaired. So we needed to replace the entire clip, including the ring through which it’s attached to the bag’s shoulder strap, with a new one. Since it wouldn’t be possible to source an identical replacement clip, we found a replacement clip that was similar to the original in terms of size and appearance and used that to replace both clips on either end of the shoulder strap — so that the two clips matched each other. This involved undoing the strap ends before installing the new clips and then resealing the ends.
