These Gucci Jordaan loafers had been worn only a few times but already showed substantial wear on the original leather soles, demonstrating the importance of protecting them. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to add a pair of thin protective soles over the top of the leather soles, for greater grip and longevity.

Protective rubber soles

We started off by cleaning the original leather soles to remove any dirt and then we sanded them down lightly to remove bumps, which tend to build up on worn leather soles, and smooth out the surface of the leather. We then added a pair of thin soles (about as thin as a 10 cent coin) made of premium Topy rubber and glued them over the top of the leather soles, slicing them at the end so that they sat flush with the original leather soles.
