SoleHeeled offers convenient and affordable Chanel bag repairs by Australia’s best craftsmen, with free shipping to your door. This case study outlines how we recently repaired a customer’s Chanel backpack.
The bag
This Chanel Classic Quilted Jumbo Backpack had held up well in spite of everyday use, straps at the back of the bag were no longer sitting correctly, due to the leather loop to which they were attached having become worn and soft. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the leather loop with a new, stronger one.
Strap repair
We found that the leather straps themselves were still strong, while only the leather loop had weakened — as expected, since it carries the most weight and pressure as the bag moves around. We removed the hardware to which the leather loop was attached before removing the loop itself. We then re-created the leather loop with new, stronger leather and attached it (along with the hardware) to the bag in place of the old loop.
