The boots
These RM Williams Comfort Craftsman boots were made to be sturdy and capable of surviving the toughest of daily use. However, while the full leather soles on this pair are sometimes preferred for aesthetic reasons and perhaps comfort / breathability, the leather soles tend to fare worse in wet and slippery weather and don’t offer as much longevity as the full rubber soles, tending to wear down more quickly.
For this reason, some R.M. Williams owners experienced with the full leather soles, and prefer to continue wearing them over the full rubber soles, opt to add a pair of protective rubber soles over the top of the original leather soles — for added longevity. So when this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to add protective rubber soles.
Protective rubber soles
The protective rubber soles are non-slip soles made of a highly-durable rubber, about as thin as a 10 cent coin and covered in small grooves — so they don’t substantially alter the shape or height of the boots and add grip to otherwise sometimes slippery leather soles. We install these over the top of the original leather soles, finishing them around the edges and slicing them at the ends so that they sit flush with the original soles.
