The shoes
These Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies studded pumps were looking great, except that the soles protectors were coming apart and the heel tips were worn down. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to replace the heel tips and sole protectors.
Sole protector replacement
The sole protectors previously installed on these shoes are readily available to consumers and repairers — the rubber at the tips is supposed to protect the toes and the circular pads on the flat part of the soles are supposed to protect the main body of the original leather soles. However, as you can see the rubber tips at the front of the shoes are susceptible to simply being worn right off and the circular pads fail to protect the outer edges of the leather soles.
We carefully removed the old sole protectors and then cut to size a pair of rubber sole protectors made especially for Louboutins. As with all sole protectors, they are made of a highly durable rubber and also come with a light tread that allows them to offer far greater traction than the leather soles. Having created a ‘heel bed’ on the leather soles by carefully sanding them down, we glued the sole protectors into place and then coloured the tapered edges for a seamless finish.
Heel tip replacement
We removed the old heel tips and replaced them with a pair of high-quality, Italian-made rubber heel tips. These are far more durable than the original Louboutin heel tips and made especially to fit the types of heel blocks on Louboutin shoes
