The rubber heels on these Loake Aldwych shoes had been worn down, especially at the end of one of the heel caps, where the leather heel blocks were starting to be worn into. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the worn heel blocks and re-heel the shoes with entirely new, premium rubber heel caps.

Heel block build-up and heel cap replacement

We started off by removing the original rubber heel caps from each of the two heel blocks. Since one of the leather stacks above the heel cap on the right shoe had been worn into slightly, we built up the heel blocks to level them off before adding a pair of high-quality Vibram heel caps, which we sanded down around the sides to match the shape of the heel blocks. We finally coloured the heel blocks to a consistent black, addressing the minor scuffing and discolouration around them.
