The shoes
These Golden Goose Super-star sneakers were looking fairly worn — as they are meant to be — but the soles had become so worn from everyday wear that the shoes were starting to fall apart. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the existing soles and install new, durable rubber soles over the top.
Resole
We began by repairing the exisiting soles, building them up with pieces of similarly colour rubber wherever the soles had been heavily worn into — mostly around the heels in this case. It is common to see the rubber around the back of the heels wearing out disproportionately fast, compared to the rest of the soles on our shoes. This is because the way we walk generally causes most of the pressure of our feet hitting the ground on the heels.
Once we had levelled off the heels, we proceeded to install a new pair of full-length rubber outer-soles over the top. These soles have a light tread for traction, are made from a highly durable rubber compound, and are made with a 5mm thickness. Finally, we used a finishing machine to carefully shape the new soles to match the shape of the original soles.
