The black leather around the toes on one of the shoes in this pair of Chanel ballet flats had been heavily scuffed and torn, leaving a layer of leather handing by a few threads. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to repair the torn leather before polishing the leather to buff out any imperfections that remained visible.

Luckily, while the leather had torn, it was not missing — in fact, none of the torn leather was missing. And so we were able to carefully glue the torn leather back into place. This alone did not achieve a satisfactory finish, as reasonably deep lines around the side of the tear remained clearly visible. To address this, we used a black pigmented polish to buff the leather around the tear and across the toes on both shoes (for consistency), smoothing out the imperfections as much as possible.
