Sneaker Restoration & Cleaning Services
Sneakers rarely last too long before starting to look a little old and tired, with dirt, scuffs and discolouration accumulated through no more than everyday, casual wear. But this rarely amounts to reason for a worn pair to forever lose its value or deserve a spot in landfill. There’s a good chance the sneakers can be restored to their former glory — through a combination of cleaning, stain removal treatment, and colour restoration work. Sneaker Cleaning
Cleaning leather or fabric is a necessary first step to getting any pair of sneakers to look fresher. When leather is involved we also condition the sneakers in order to nourish the leather, making it more supple and less likely to crease, flake or peel. This often helps to get rid of accumulated dirt and lighter scuffs affecting the outermost layer of the sneakers. When the sneakers have cotton laces, these are also cleaned or else replaced with a fresh pair.
Sneaker Stain Removal
Sneakers can be stained, such that simply cleaning them alone would not be enough to get the sneakers looking as fresh as they could be. These stains are commonly caused by spills or dye transfers or through the oxidising / yellowing of rubber.
In these cases, usually after fully cleaning the sneakers, we specially treat the stains with a variety of stain removal agents. The particular agents we use in any given case depends on the type of material and the source or type of stain involved. The effective removal of stains is sometimes impossible, and so cannot be guaranteed in all cases, but attempting a stain removal is generally worthwhile.
Sneaker Colour Restoration
When sneakers are damaged in such a way that has caused an irreversible loss of colour, such as when material starts to peel away or a stain cannot be completely removed.
The process of restoring the colour on sneakers generally starts with us prepping the material being coloured, cleaning the sneakers and buffing out any scuffs or scratches as much as possible, to help ensure the surface is smooth and the material is ready to properly absorb the new colour. We then select colours from a range of specialist dyes or paints and occasionally custom mix these colours to match, or at least closely approximate, the original colour of the sneakers. We then apply the colour by hand or airbrush, and create the desired texture (e.g. glossy, matte or satin) with specialist finishers. We complete the process by treating the sneakers with a waterproofing agent as a sealer.

- Complete our online order form, where you'll be able to upload photos and describe the work you'd like done to the sneakers. You'll get an instant quote based on your selection and then choose to either proceed with an order or request a custom quote.
- Once we've reviewed your order, we'll email you instructions for getting your sneakers to us. If you live in Sydney, you'll have the option to drop the sneakers off at our workshop. Otherwise, you'll be able to drop them off at a local Australia Post office, where they will be packaged and shipped over to us for free.
- Once we receive your sneakers, we'll clean / restore and return them to you through Australia Post.
The cost to clean sneakers varies depending on the specific work being performed and the materials being worked on. The cost of a basic leather sneaker cleaning service starts at $69, with the price increasing when other related services (e.g. stain removal / mould treatment and colour restoration) are required or other materials (e.g. suede or some fabrics) are involved.
The cost to restore sneakers varies mainly based on the amount of time required to perform the work. For example, a colour restoration involving a complete recolouring / refinishing of each sneaker in a pair would cost more than one involving only a specific part of one sneaker. Likewise, an additional cost is involved when custom mixing is required for colour matching purposes or when certain materials are involved (e.g. suede or fabric).

The time it takes to complete a cleaning service varies depending on the particular work required and the workload in the workshop when the sneakers are received.
We are generally able to complete sneaker cleaning and restoration services within 1-2 weeks of receiving sneakers at the workshop. This extends to 2-3 weeks for most specialist services and longer for more complex restorations.
If you will be using our free shipping service (rather than dropping off and picking up your sneakers at the workshop), then you should also factor in shipping time via Australia Post. This varies depending on your location, but generally takes no more than a few business days if you're in a metropolitan area and otherwise up to 5 business days (if you're in a regional or remote area).
Once you submit your online order form, you'll be given a token that allows you to track everything online, throughout the process of getting your sneakers cleaned / restored.
And whenever your sneakers are in transit (whether on their way to our workshop or back to you via Australia Post), you'll have a parcel tracking number and receive real-time shipping notifications by email.
Yes, you can drop off and pick up your sneakers at our workshop in Martin Place, Sydney provided that:
