These Valentino Rockstud Ankle Strap sandals were looking great, except for one of the heel blocks, which had been chewed up by a puppy. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to re-cover the heel blocks with entirely new leather and replace the rubber heel caps.

Heel block re-covering / re-wrapping

We began by removing the heel block from the main body of the shoe, peeling off the old leather around the heel block and removing the already partially detached rubber heel cap. We then sourced a suitable replacement leather and recoloured / refinished the leather based on the colour and texture of the original leather. We cut that leather to shape and wrapped it around the heel block before re-securing the heel block to the shoe. We then finally reheeled the shoes, replacing the heel caps with a fresh pair of premium rubber heel caps on both shoes for consistency.
