The boots
These classic RM Williams boots are among the toughest, most durable boots one can find anywhere in the world — carefully handcrafted in Adelaide, they are known to last generations and are beginning to enjoy almost heirloom status among Australian families. This particular pair had been worn for more than a decade, and was holding up reasonably well considering, but needed a full re-sole and re-heel to ensure it could continue to be worn for decades to come.

Full re-sole and re-heel
We removed the existing heel blocks and soles before stitching a new full rubber sole covering the entire length of each boot. We then reattached the old heel block and applied a new rubber heel at the base before cleaning and recolouring to restore the entire heel block as well as the areas around the toes of each boot.
We used original RM Williams soles and heels in carrying out the re-sole and re-heel — as official recommended RM Williams repairers, we are one of a few remaining repairers authorised to do so.
Leather polish / shine
The customer in this case had wisely maintained the leather upper on each boot by regularly conditioning the leather — as a result of doing so, the leather remained nourished and supple, whereas it could have become dry and begun to gradually crack and tear. So rather than a full restoration of the leather, we were able to lightly clean and then polish the leather to get it looking pretty much new.
It is worth noting here that quality leathers deserve ongoing care and attention.
