The shoes
These Fendi flats are an elegant pair that had been worn for many years and were in a reasonably good state, except that the leather had been lightly scuffed, the heel area on the inner lining had torn and worn away, and the soles were slippery and in need of protection from further wear. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to clean, conditioned and restore the surface leather, install a new pair of custom leather heel grips, and finally repair the existing leather soles and cover them with thin rubber soles for added grip and protection.
Leather cleaning, conditioning and colour restoration
We first cleaned and conditioned the leather throughout the shoes to help get it looking and feeling fresher and to get it ready for a light polish that would help to restore the colour around those areas where the leather was discoloured due to light scuffing.
Heel grip installation
We custom cut 4 pieces of leather and installed them at the back of each shoe as a way to not only seal up and reinforce the area around where the inner lining had torn and worn away, but also offer added grip while walking.
Sole replacement
The existing leather soles were in a reasonably good shape, but we repaired the soles and then added thin rubber soles on top of the existing leather soles for added protection and grip while walking.
