The shoes

One of the heel blocks on these Christian Louboutin Kate 554 pumps had become severely torn after sliding through the side of an escalator. When this customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to re-cover the patent black leather around the heel blocks with entirely new, matching leather.

Heel block re-covering / re-wrapping

We started off my removing the black patent leather from around the outside of the heel blocks. We then cut new pieces of patent black leather to match these removed pieces and proceeded to glue them into place, around the original heel blocks.

While the patent black leather we used pretty much perfectly matched the original leather, we generally avoid replacing leather on only one shoe — even if the differences in leather may be very minor, we do this as a matter of good practice.

Heel tip replacement

We then replaced the heel tips on both shoes with a pair of new, sturdier rubber heel tips.
