Excellent service and the work is fantastic. They were able to source the specific type of sole I wanted, and their mail service is very convenient. I'll be using them again for my other shoes.

Dainite Soles: A premium option
Dainite soles are celebrated for their blend of durability, elegance and comfort, making them a preferred option for shoe enthusiasts. When customers are looking for a premium resole option, we recommend Dainite studded rubber.
Durability: Dainite soles are made from high-density rubber renowned for its exceptional toughness and resistance to wear. This means that your shoes will be able to withstand the test of time, providing long-lasting protection against everyday wear and tear, and saving you the hassle and expense of more frequent sole replacements.
Elegance: Dainite soles are known for striking a great balance between functionality and style, with their unique tread pattern. This consists of small studs or ridges, which are strategically placed to maximise traction on various surfaces and in various conditions, and which are recessed to ensure an elegant profile and avoid the heavier lugs and other treads often found on rubber soles.
Comfort: As with most rubber soles, Dainite soles are known to be comfier than leather soles, particularly because they do not need to be worn into in the same way as leather soles do. As far as rubber soles go, Dainite soles tend to offer wearers a uniquely comfortable wearing experience, thanks to their inherent flexibility and shock-absorbing properties.
These factors together make Dainite soles an excellent choice for owners of premium footwear looking for soles that deliver on all fronts.
Our Dainite Resole Service
As most cobblers do, we consider Dainite soles a premium option necessitating a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail befitting the quality of the soles themselves. Our team of cobblers are the best at what they do and intimately familiar with what it takes to get a Dainite resole done right.
The process involves completely removing the old soles along the entire length of each shoe and then stitching into place a new pair of full-length Dainite studded soles. We also reheel the shoes, replacing the heel caps with paired Dainite studded heel caps. In performing this work, we always remove the old stitching from welts and repair the cork layers (between the outer soles and footbeds), and we offer a variety of customisation options — such as the installation of toe / heel plates for added protection and the addition of full-length neutral or coloured midsoles to give the soles added thickness and flair.
Looking for something else?
We also perform a variety of other specialist shoe resole and shoe repair services. If you do not see what you are looking for or you are not quite sure what your shoes need, learn more about our shoe repair services or select the ‘Soles’ option while completing our order form — where you will be able to describe and upload photos of your soles, which we will then review and recommend work for.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's all very quick and easy — promise!
- Complete our online order form, where you'll be able to upload photos and describe the work you'd like done to the shoes. You'll get an instant quote based on your selection and then choose to either proceed with an order or request a custom quote.
- Once we've reviewed your order, we'll email you instructions for getting your shoes to us. If you live in Sydney, you'll have the option to drop the shoes off at our workshop. Otherwise, you'll be able to drop them off at a local Australia Post office, where they'll be packaged and shipped over to us for free.
- Once we receive your shoes, we'll resole and return them to you by courier.
The cost of a Dainite shoe resole varies widely depending on the actual work performed, but generally starts at $249. This includes replacement of the heel caps with Dainite studded heel caps. A reheel with Dainite studded rubber heel caps, on its own, starts at $99.
Simply complete our order form to get a free diagnosis/quote based on your particular requirements.
The time it takes to complete a Dainite resole varies depending on the particular work required and the workload in the workshop when the shoes are received.
We are generally able to complete basic Dainite sole replacements within 2-3 weeks of receiving shoes at the workshop. This extends to 3-4 weeks for most specialist recrafts and longer for more complex recraft and restoration work.
If you will be using our free shipping service (rather than dropping off and picking up your shoes at the workshop), then you should also factor in shipping time via Australia Post. This varies depending on your location, but generally takes no more than a few business days if you're in a metropolitan area and otherwise up to 5 business days (if you're in a regional or remote area).
The lifespan of Dainite soles can vary depending on usage and maintenance. However, Dainite soles are made from a highly durable rubber compound and are known for their longevity, so they often outlast other sole options, providing years of reliable performance.
Dainite soles work on a variety of different types of footwear, including shoes and boots. However, we generally recommend them only for shoes / boots with a Goodyear-welted or Blake-stitched construction — i.e. where the soles are stitched into place.
Dainite soles are fairly low-maintenance, unlike leather soles, for example. But they still benefit from regular cleaning with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris, and it is best to avoid allowing prolonged exposure to extreme heat or harsh chemicals — to ensure the soles preserve their integrity and longevity.
In limited cases, steel or brass toe and heel plates can be used to protect new Dainite soles, slowing down the rate of wear in those areas where soles and heels tend to wear down the fastest.
Once you submit your online order form, you'll be given a token that allows you to track everything online, throughout the process of getting your shoes resoled.
And whenever your shoes are in transit (whether on their way to our workshop via Australia Post or on the way back to you via courier), you'll have a parcel tracking number and receive real-time shipping notifications by email.
Yes, you can drop off and pick up your shoes at our workshop in Martin Place, Sydney provided that:
- You first complete your order online;
- You let us know (in the order form or by follow up email) that you'd like to drop off and/or pick up at the workshop; and
- We have emailed you a ticket that you'll need to print out and hand over at the workshop for ID and proof of payment.
