The boots

These Louis Vuitton Silhouette Ankle boots were brand new, with the original glossy leather soles unprotected and lacking traction. When the customer reached out to us for a free diagnosis/quote, we offered to install a pair of premium rubber protective soles over the top of the original soles to enhance both durability and grip.

Protective sole installation

While the leather soles on these boots were in perfect condition, they remained prone to accelerated wear (being made of leather) and lacking in traction (making them difficult to walk in on slippery surfaces).

We began by sanding down the original soles slightly, to create room for the protective soles to be installed flush with the original soles. By sanding the original soles first, the protective soles blend in better, and we can avoid impacting the shape / profile of the boot.

We then installed a pair of premium rubber soles protectors made by Casali. For these boots, we selected a glossy black rubber that looked more seamless with the original soles.
